Introducing the GP-Tune Transform for GoPro footage

The GP-Tune transform has just been released for DaVinci Resolve! The transform supports GoPro footage from the most recent HERO12 Black camera down to the older HERO5 Black! The Transform also includes ACES IDTs and supports Protune, GP-Log as well as GoPro Labs custom parameters such as LOGB curves, WIDE=1 white balanced input and much, much more!

Protune Flat Native Support

The GP-Tune Transform includes support for the Protune Flat NATIVE white balance preset. This has been the go-to setting for most GoPro cameras for years. With each release, GoPro has slightly altered the NATIVE color parameters. The transform includes color corrections specifically calculated for each supported GoPro HERO model from HERO7 up to the latest HERO12.

GP-Log & WIDE Support

The GP-Log transform also supports GP-Log for the new HERO12 Black! If you have the HERO11 series and use GoPro Labs firmware, you can also use LOGB=400 for the same result! What’s more, if you have the Labs firmware, you can also use WIDE=1 for the sensor NATIVE gamut with automatic White balancing!

Custom Parameters

The GP-Tune Transform is so much more than just a bunch of ACES IDTs (Input Transforms)! Whilst the core offering includes ACES IDTs for each supported GoPro camera, the GP-Tune Transform DCTL is also included and can be used for so much customization!

If you’re using the GoPro Labs firmware, you can use the custom LogB curve to define your own base and offset. Adjust exposures in the transform using the Exposure Correction slider, chose your sensor color settings and define a whole range of input and output settings for your preferred color management workflow!

Daylight & Tungsten Presets

Many camera manufacturers include Daylight & Tungsten lighting presets with their Input Transforms. The GP-Tune Transform includes both Daylight & Tungsten presets as ACES IDTs as well as customizable parameters in the GP-Tune Transform DCTL! The Tungsten color preset is particularly useful for warm indoor lighting or harsh street-lighting in night-time scenarios. Choose your preset as desired.
