HLG Normalized updates & iPhone HDR Support

The HLG Normalized Plugin, HLG Normalized Transform and HLG Normalized LUT Pack have been updated to include support for Apple iPhone / iPad HLG HDR parameters.

Recently, a lot of users have struggled with editing iPhone HDR content in Video Editing applications such as DaVinci Resolve. Imported iPhone footage has generally appeared over-blown in these applications due to the nature of exposure settings implemented within the camera.

The HLG Normalized suite has been updated to address this major pain point. The LUT Pack now includes iPhone HLG specific LUTs whilst the HLG Normalized Transform and Plugin now include the iPhone HLG preset.

The HLG Normalized Transform and HLG Normalized Plugin now also include additional parameters such as Gamut Mapping, Desaturation and Highlight Rolloff functions.

The Gamut Mapping feature assists in mapping the source Rec.2020 color space down to a smaller color space such as Rec.709. In the HLG Normalized Plugin, this feature is enabled by default.

The Desaturation function tweaks the color by reducing the overall saturation down to 85%.

The Highlight Rolloff feature has been added by popular demand and allows for highlights to be subtly rolled off with a smoother gradation compared to the harsh highlight clipping often observed with HLG HDR content. This is particularly useful when converting HLG HDR to SDR or when performing an artistic/creative grade.

The HLG Normalized Plugin has been further enhanced to support Vegas Pro, whether working with content in 8-bit or 32-bit float.
